Expanders

The Expander device literally expands the number of end devices that you can connect together. I/O expanders provide general purpose remote I/O expansion for most microcontroller families via the two-line bidirectional bus (I²C-bus). They provide a designer the ability to implement additional inputs and outputs (I/O) on a microprocessor (MPU) or microcontroller (MCU) system. Standard products include Remote and SMBus I/O Expanders, I2C and SMBus I/O Expanders, 10-Port SPI-Interfaced I/O Expanders and others.
