Surface Mount Resistors

A resistor is a passive electrical component to create resistance in the flow of electric current, and is used for many purposes like delimiting electric current, voltage division, heat generation, matching and loading circuits, control gain, and fix time constants. The Surface-mount resistors are usually tiny black rectangles, terminated on either side with even smaller, shiny, and silver conductive edges. These resistors are intended to sit on top of PCBs where they are soldered onto mating landing pads. The surface mount (SMD) resistors have a numerical code because the components are too small for color coding.
