Buffer and line driver is integrated circuit that isolate the input circuit from the output circuit. It is designed to improve both the performance and PC board density of 3-STATE buffers and drivers employed as memory address drivers, clock drivers, and bus oriented transmitters/receivers. This reduces the load seen by the input circuit and enables signals to be sent on PCB or cables over longer distances with higher fan-out.
